USA Country Sourdough started in November, 2024. Michael and Robyn moved to North Carolina from San Francisco for her job back in 2018. While they quickly fell in love with Raleigh, with its southern charm and true fall weather, they really couldn't find any sourdough bread comparable to what they could get on most street corners in San Francisco. Then disaster struck; Robyn was laid off. Life got very stressful, trying to navigate through the challenge and Michael needed a way to lessen his burdens while he was helping her cope with hers. Michael's first love had always been in the kitchen, and he decided to try to create the perfect sourdough. So Elroy the Sourdough Starter was born on 11/11/2024, and after many months of trial and error in August 2025 USA Country Sourdough was born! To honor the community they have come to love, Michael and Robyn are committed to using only the best locally-sourced organic ingredients to produce the best (and best for you!) sourdough bread!
